This picture was the last one taken before he was sent to Vietnam... It is one of my favorite pictures. The photo was taken is Simms, TX (a very small rural community about 30 miles from Texarkana, TX). This was in the front yard (facing the road) of my grandparent's house.
This photo was taken at McGuire AFB in New Jersey in December, 1967 on our return from Germany. We had moved back from Germany, and were on our way to Kentucky to visit relatives. In the picture, my father is walking with me at his side with my little brother several steps behind us (he has the white hair). My mother took the picture.
